No hay plazo que no se cumpla.

This post dates way back in March, below you will read some of the thoughts I had back then, as you read the text, it will transition to 5/2/09.

(April)

Hello friends and family,

As I sit here in bed and enjoy my last three days of Spring Break, I think of the things I accomplished and the things I did not this week. For instance:

Accomplished

The past weekend Norm (Calia's Dad) came to help me change two windows in the house. The windows look great and now I think I can change any window in the house. Also this week we worked in getting the baby room ready, hopefully soon I will have the crib and baby changer built.

Not accomplished

I didn't finish, not even started,  an assessment project I need to present at work by the end of the semester. I'll get to it this coming week.

...Every time I say to someone that Calia and I are having a baby, the first thing they say is: "Oh man, your life is going to change" ...well, I know that, but here is the thing, I don't like change, it's uncomfortable, and overwhelming. However, whatever the change is, I still do okay. ...I came to the US 9 years ago and that was a big change, today I am okay, I adapted.

When I go to Mexico, I adapt there. I can go to Mexico and return to the US or the other way around and I feel equally comfortable in both countries. ...well, I still complain a little bit about the american "life"; there is so much wealth in most places here that I just think is wrong. I know I need to change this way of thinking.

Having a baby in the house is going to be a big change too, but we will adapt.

Today is May 02, 2009 and I am at Baylor Hospital in Dallas, Texas. Calia is laying down in bed sleeping. I can hear a little heart bit through the speakers in the room, woom, woom, woom! Our daughter is about to be born,  she has decided to come early and not May 14 as planned. I don't have a problem, let her come that I want to meet her.

This is a very very cool experience, I'm excited. I can only think of the following  verse:

O LORD, you have searched me  and you know me.

You know when I sit and when I rise;

You perceive my thoughts from afar.

You discern my going out and my lying down;

You are familiar with all my ways.  ...

...For you created my inmost being;

you knit me together in my mother's womb.

I praise you because I am fearfully and wonderfully made;

your works are wonderful, I know that full well.

My frame was not hidden from you when I was made in the secret place.

When I was woven together in the depths of the earth, Your eyes saw my unformed body.

All the days ordained for me  were written in your book before one of them came to be.

How precious to me are your thoughts, O God! How vast is the sum of them!

Salmo 139.

26.2

Tonight I was supposed to be eating several pounds of Calia’s home made pasta, but instead I am here at a Starbucks coffee shop typing this blog. Something that I wanted to become a tradition will not happen this year. Last year on the Friday before the White Rock Lake Marathon, Calia cooked a delicious pasta to get me packed on carbohydrates ready for the race, but as some of you might know about three weeks ago I suffered an injury while training for the WR race, my left leg became numbed and eventually started to hurt, soon my doctor diagnosed me with a moderate mode of sciatica that has stopped me from participating on this Sunday’s marathon. So, there is no pasta, no excitement and no 26.2 miles of fun and pain (good pain!).

This is not the end of my running days though; I’ve changed my exercise routine to yoga and stationary biking, supposedly this will help me recover in a few months. I must mention that I am planning on running a 5K in February 28. It’s my prayer that I can be well by then.

They are about to close the cafe, so I need to stop this. Now something very funny about Starbucks is that they never get my drink right, Calia has a theory and I have mine, but this is a whole new topic for another blog.

-The things of life-
Bendiciones.
