26.2

Tonight I was supposed to be eating several pounds of Calia’s home made pasta, but instead I am here at a Starbucks coffee shop typing this blog. Something that I wanted to become a tradition will not happen this year. Last year on the Friday before the White Rock Lake Marathon, Calia cooked a delicious pasta to get me packed on carbohydrates ready for the race, but as some of you might know about three weeks ago I suffered an injury while training for the WR race, my left leg became numbed and eventually started to hurt, soon my doctor diagnosed me with a moderate mode of sciatica that has stopped me from participating on this Sunday’s marathon. So, there is no pasta, no excitement and no 26.2 miles of fun and pain (good pain!).

This is not the end of my running days though; I’ve changed my exercise routine to yoga and stationary biking, supposedly this will help me recover in a few months. I must mention that I am planning on running a 5K in February 28. It’s my prayer that I can be well by then.

They are about to close the cafe, so I need to stop this. Now something very funny about Starbucks is that they never get my drink right, Calia has a theory and I have mine, but this is a whole new topic for another blog.
